اطلق الرئيس التنفيذي للشركة فورد الن مولالي 2011 فورد اكسبلورر رسميا في ولاية نيورك الامريكيه و ايضا تم اطلاقه في نفس الوقت في 8 مدن رئيسيه امريكيه وكنديه . تم اعادة تصميم 2011 فورد اكسبلورر جذريا من الداخل والخارج لليعكس رؤيه الزبائن العصريه في السياره متعددة الاستعمالات الرياضيه SUV العصريه التي يريدونها .
قال موري كالوم Moray Callum الرئيس التنفيذي للتصميم في امريكا الشماليه executive director of North America Design ” فورد اعادت تصميم الفورد اكسبلورر بالكامل وبالرغم من ذلك يبقى بشكله الجديد المميز يمثل الفورد اكسبلورر ” وقال ايضا ” نحن نؤمن بذلك لانه الترجمه العصريه للقدرات الفورد الاكسبلورر التي اشتهر بها وبدون اي تضحيه ” .
قال ميلفن بيتنكورت Melvin Betancourt مدير التصميم design manager ” الفورد اكسبلورر الجديد كليا يجمع مابين التصميم الجرئ والرائع مع شكل انسيابي مثبت على شاصي قوي ” وقال ايضا ” الفورد اكسبلورر بأرتفاعه وبمواصفات السيارات متعددة الاستعمالات يوحي بقدرته العاليه على الطرق الوعره ” .
المواصفات
* دفع امامي FWD و دفع رباعي 4WD .
* ناقل حركه اتوماتيكي مكون من 6 سرعات مع امكانية تحويله الى وضع العادي للاداء رياضي .
* محرك 6 سلندر سعة 3.5 لتر ويولد 290 حصان وعزم 255 رطل وهو المحرك الاساسي مع قدرة سحب تصل الى 5 الاف باوند اي 2 طن و 272 كيلو .
* ولاول مره في تاريخ الفورد اكسبلورر محرك 4 سلندر سعة 2.0 لتر بتقنية الايكوبوست ECOBOOST يولد 237 حصان وعزم 250 رطل لليكون الافضل في فئته من ناحية الاقتصاديه في استهلاك الوقود وتغيير زيت المحرك كل 10 الاف ميل ( 16 الف كيلو ) .
